Camp near Chickahominy Thursday June 6th, 1862. We then fell back but were soon brought back on to the battlefieldagain which we did.It was growing still hotter than when we left but we got in and played on them again for a short time and it is said we done terrible execution but were not supported by the infantry and we had to retreat again. We have been sent back near the Chickahominy Creek to rest up, the whole division has been sent here. I tell you we feel as though we needed some recruiting before we go any further.
