Milton C Heidelbaugh was a veteran of the Civil War having served in the Union Army in Company C, 50th Pennsylvania Volunteers Infantry. He served under Colonel Emlin Franklin during the Civil War and fought in the Battle of Gettysburg. From 1885 to 1901 he was a member of the State Legislature and was elected as State Senator in 1901.
