Civil War Colonel Alexander Biddle's 1861 signed book. This Civil War US Infintry and Tactics handbook. Along with 4 envelopes from Alexander to his wife. Alexander Biddle from the 1860's to 1880's. He's grandfather was a famous American Revolutionary War hero Clement Biddle. Alexander's family papers are stored at Dickenson College (Carlisle Pennsylvania). Can't make out last line. The book is fully intact. All pullouts are attached and complete. 1626 Walnut Street is the Biddle residence, which is in. This address is confirmed in the article link provided. ENVELOPE #1 -- Dated Aug 11, 1863. Care of H J Williams Esq. Has note scribbled on back. Biddle's (Julia Willams Rush) uncle.
